Subscribing and Managing Your Plan

How to go from the free trial to a paid subscription, choose between individual and team plans, and switch between them when your needs change.

When the free trial has done its job and you're ready to subscribe, here's how that works at Quill. (Spoiler: it takes a minute or two.)

The two plans

Quill has two subscription plans:

Plan Cost Best for
Individual $20/month A single therapist. One person, one account, everything included.
Team $20/month for the first user, then $16/month for each additional team member A group practice or anyone who'd like to bring teammates onto Quill. Same unlimited features per person, plus team management tools.

A team of one is identical in price to an individual plan -- $20/month either way. So if you're a solo therapist who might add teammates later, starting with a team plan is fine.

Subscribing

When you've used up your free trial generations (or any time before, if you'd like), you'll see a "Subscribe" button at the top of the page. Click it to go to the subscription flow.

From there:

  1. Pick the plan you want -- individual or team.
  2. Enter your payment information.
  3. Click subscribe.

Your subscription starts immediately, your generation limits go away, and you'll receive a confirmation email with the details.

Switching between individual and team plans

You're not locked in. If your practice grows and you'd like to add teammates, you can move from an individual plan to a team plan. If your practice contracts and you no longer need a team plan, you can move back to an individual plan.

The switch happens directly on My Account -- you'll see a "Switch to Team Plan" or "Switch to Individual Plan" button right on the page. Changes take effect immediately, and billing adjusts on your next cycle. No penalty for switching either direction.

What "managing your plan" actually means

The "Manage Plan" button on My Account opens our billing portal, where you can:

  • Update your payment method.
  • Review your invoice history.
  • Cancel your subscription (or restart it later).
  • See when your next billing cycle starts.

For the specifics on each, the deeper guides cover them in detail:

Who manages billing on a team plan

If you're on a team plan, only the Team Administrator (the person who originally signed the team up) has access to the "Manage Plan" button. Other team members manage their own accounts but don't see billing for the team -- that's by design.

If you're a regular team member and you have a billing question, ask your Team Administrator, or just email us and we'll help sort it out.

Not sure which plan is the right fit, or have a question about how billing works at Quill? Send us an email and we'll walk through it.
