Starting Your Free Trial

Quill's free trial gives you a real feel for the product before committing to anything -- a few free progress notes and treatment plans, full access to features, no credit card required.

Before you decide whether Quill is right for your practice, you should actually use it. That's what the free trial is for. Sign up, generate a few real notes, see how it feels, and only then think about subscribing.

What you get with the trial

The free trial includes:

  • Free progress notes. Generate them in any of the supported note formats (SOAP, DAP, BIRP, PIRP, SIMPLE).
  • Free treatment plans. Either the built-in flow or one generated from a custom documentation template you've built.
  • Custom documentation templates. Build as many as you'd like, generate documentation from them during the trial.
  • All of the note preferences -- format, length, custom instructions, terminology, find and replace, sticky notes. Everything that paid subscribers have access to.
  • Documentation worksheets for faster input.
  • Audio recording, text, and worksheet input modes.

In other words: the trial is the full product, with a cap on how much you can generate. You're not getting a hobbled version -- you're getting the same Quill paid subscribers use.

No credit card required

You don't need to enter a credit card to start the trial. There's no automatic conversion at the end of the trial. When you've used up your free generations, you'll see a prompt to subscribe -- and that's the only point at which billing comes up.

We do this on purpose. We'd rather have therapists try Quill on their own time without worrying about a surprise charge. If you don't subscribe after the trial, that's fine. Your account stays around in case you change your mind later.

Signing up

Head to the registration page and fill in your name, email, and a password. That's it -- you'll be logged in and ready to generate your first note within seconds.

One quick tip: use your work email if you have one. It makes things simpler if you later add yourself to a team plan, and it makes sure any account communications go where you want them.

Your first note

Once you're signed in, the most useful next step is to generate a real note. Pick a therapy session you've already documented (or are about to), provide a quick summary the way you would naturally, and see what comes out. The faster you generate a real note, the faster you'll know whether Quill fits the way you work.

If you'd like to walk through that process step by step, see Generating Documentation with Quill.

When the trial runs out

When you've used up your free generations, you'll see a prompt to subscribe. At that point you can either:

  • Subscribe, which gives you unlimited generations going forward. See Subscribing and managing your plan for the walkthrough.
  • Wait. Your account stays active, and you can come back whenever you're ready.

You're never on the hook for anything until you choose to subscribe.

Questions about what's actually included in the trial, or whether Quill fits your particular setup? Just email us -- we're happy to talk through it.
