How to Invite a Team Member

Send a single invite from your team page, and we'll do the rest. Here's exactly how it works at Quill.

Adding someone new to your team at Quill takes about ten seconds. Here's the walkthrough.

First, head to the team page. (You can also get there from My Account by clicking "Manage Team".) Here's how you do it:

  1. In the "Team Members" section (or "Pending Invites" -- the button appears in both), click "Send Invite". A small window will pop up asking for the person's email.
  2. Type in the email address of the person you want to invite, then click "Send Invite".

That's it. We send them an email with a link inside. They click the link, sign in (or create their account), and they're on your team.

The four states of a pending invite

After you send the invite, you'll see it appear in the "Pending Invites" section. There are a few different states it can be in:

State What it means
"Open" The invite is out there waiting to be accepted.
"Accepted" The person clicked the link and joined. They'll now show up in the "Team Members" section instead.
"Expired" They didn't accept the invite within the allowed window. You can resend or cancel it.
"Cancelled" You decided to cancel the invite before it was accepted. You're welcome to send a fresh invite later if needed.

How accepted invites affect billing

Once an invite is accepted, the new member is added to the team's monthly subscription. Pending invites don't cost anything -- the team is only billed for people who actually join.

Inviting a lot of people at once

If you've got more than a few people to bring on, take a look at Sending Bulk Invites. You can paste in a whole list of email addresses and review them before any emails go out.

Anything not behaving the way you'd expect when sending an invite? Email us and we'll dig in.
