Many event organizers in the mental health space wait until later in the cycle to publish their dates, especially smaller regional CEU workshops and clinical trainings that don't require long lead times for venue booking. What's here now is the early wave -- there will be more. A lot of the activity comes from the major professional associations -- the American Counseling Association (ACA) and the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA) for counselors, the National Association of Social Workers (NASW) for clinical social workers, the American Psychological Association (APA) for psychologists, and the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT) for MFTs -- plus their California chapters, which run their own annual conferences and CEU programming. As a baseline, 2026 closed out with roughly 19 mental health conferences in California. If past patterns hold, 2027 should land in a similar range once organizers finish publishing their schedules.
