The Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) Basic Training is an intensive two-day clinical training aimed at equipping mental health professionals with the skills needed to deliver evidence-based trauma treatment to children and adolescents. The training prepares clinicians for national certification in the TF-CBT model and is led by Thomas Mitchell, LPC-S, NCC. Participants will engage in interactive instruction, clinical application exercises, and role play to strengthen their trauma-informed treatment skills. The agenda includes instruction in the PRACTICE components of TF-CBT, such as parenting, psychoeducation, relaxation skills, and trauma narrative development. Attendees will also receive 12 additional consultation hours post-training to support continued competency development.
