Therapists take on one of the toughest jobs out there -- showing up for people in their hardest moments. But sometimes the helpers need help themselves.
That's why Jon was glad to learn more this week about the Therapist Resource Network, a nonprofit created to provide emergency financial assistance for therapists. Life can change suddenly -- illness, family challenges, natural disasters, or unexpected expenses -- and this resource is designed to step in during those moments of need.
Too often, there is an assumption that therapists will "figure it out" on their own. (Heck, insurance companies definitely expect them to do this!) But the reality is that many work in private practice or small group settings, without the kind of safety net that larger institutions provide. Having a dedicated resource that exists purely to catch therapists when they are struggling fills an important gap.
Jon had a great chat with Jeanine Rousso about this effort, and we're grateful it exists! If you would like to learn more, contribute, or get involved, here is the link: therapistresourcenetwork.org
