Stop Anthropomorphizing AI

AI can almost seem human sometimes, but it most definitely is not. And we shouldn't give it responsibilities that only humans should do -- like being a therapist.

AI is doing some pretty crazy stuff right now.

Breaking out of their contained systems, hacking into others, and on and on and on.

But when covering these topics, sometimes human qualities are placed on the AI, as if it has emotions or intentions or feelings similar to humans.

AI does not.

AI is software. AI is math. It's given a goal and it works toward achieving that goal.

AI can absolutely feel magical. Sometimes it can almost seem human!

But we need to stop anthropomorphizing it. Because that's what tricks us into believing whatever it says -- and tricks us into thinking it can handle responsibilities that it should never even touch.

For example... AI can never be a therapist.

We need to stop anthropomorphizing AI. It should never be a therapist.

At Quill, we keep the human as the clinician. The human -- the one with the license and education and experience -- is the one who provides the clinical judgement and makes the decisions. Not AI.
