Therapist Burnout Bonfire

Less is s'more.

Advent Calendar for Therapists

Day 21 of 24

Long days of emotional presence, constant documentation, administrative pressure, and holding space for others add up. Burnout for therapists shows up as exhaustion that sleep does not fix, compassion that feels harder to access, and a sense of being stretched thinner over time.

Burnout is not a lack of resilience or dedication. It is what happens when sustained care is required without enough space to recover. Naming, acknowledging, and recognizing that this weight exists can be a meaningful first step.

This bonfire you see does not fix that. But we wanted to help acknowledge and recognize burnout amongst therapists. And you know what's calming? A bonfire in the woods. And you know what also helps? S'mores. These things don't remove the burnout, they don't fix the problem, but... let's enjoy a bonfire and some s'mores for a bit.

How to Play

  1. Sit and enjoy the bonfire.
  2. If you're hungry (and even if you're not hungry), roast a marshmallow for a s'more.
